Hope Directive

What We Believe

At Hope Directive, what we believe is not a side issue. It is the foundation for who we are, how we serve, and why we do what we do.

We are a Christ-centered organization committed to helping people know God, walk with Him, serve others, and participate in His purposes in the world.

Our Commitment

Hope Directive exists to serve people and communities in a way that reflects the heart, truth, and kingdom of Jesus Christ.

We welcome people from many backgrounds, places, and experiences. At the same time, we are clear that Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, the gospel once delivered to the saints, and the glory of God are the center of who we are and what we do.

We are committed to stewarding our work with integrity, humility, wisdom, and love.

From Him. Through Him. To Him.

See Scripture References: Our Commitment.Β

Our Foundation

We believe everything begins with God, is sustained by God, and is ultimately for God.

β€œFor from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.”
β€” Romans 11:36

Our desire is to live, lead, serve, give, and build in a way that honors Jesus Christ and reflects His kingdom.

See Scripture References: Our Foundation.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and final authority for faith, life, truth, and practice.

Scripture reveals who God is, who we are, what has gone wrong in the world, what Jesus has done, and how we are called to live.

Every teaching, strategy, impression, opportunity, and direction must be tested by the Word of God.

See Scripture References: The Bible.

God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God is holy, loving, just, wise, powerful, and good. He is the Creator of heaven and earth, the giver of life, and the source of all truth, beauty, purpose, and authority.

See Scripture References: God.

Creation and Human Dignity

We believe God created the world good and made people in His image and likeness.

Every person carries God-given dignity, value, and purpose. We were created to know God, love Him, love one another, steward what He has entrusted to us, and reflect His nature in the world.

See Scripture References: Creation and Human Dignity.

Sin and Brokenness

We believe sin has fractured our relationship with God, with one another, with ourselves, and with creation.

The effects of sin are personal, relational, cultural, and creation-wide. They show up in hearts, homes, communities, systems, organizations, and nations through fear, pride, oppression, injustice, greed, violence, shame, and death.

But God did not abandon His world.

See Scripture References: Sin and Brokenness.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.

He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, revealed the Father, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and now reigns as Lord.

Through Jesus, forgiveness is real, reconciliation is possible, freedom is available, and new life begins.

Jesus is the only Savior, Lord, mediator, and King.

See Scripture References: Jesus Christ.

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

We are not saved by our works, morality, giving, sacrifice, success, or religious performance. We are rescued because of God’s mercy and made new through faith in Jesus Christ.

Good works do not earn salvation. They are the fruit of a life transformed by grace.

See Scripture References: Salvation.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is active today.

The Holy Spirit indwells every believer, reveals Jesus, convicts of sin, leads us into truth, empowers holy living, gives spiritual gifts, comforts, guides, heals, and equips God’s people for witness and service.

We believe the Christian life is not meant to be lived in human strength alone, but in relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

See Scripture References: The Holy Spirit.

The Kingdom of God

We believe Jesus is Lord over all of life.

The gospel is personal, but it is not private. The reign of Jesus touches every part of life β€” family, work, leadership, generosity, justice, mercy, education, business, government, creativity, and community.

We believe God’s people are called to live as witnesses and ambassadors of His kingdom in the real world.

See Scripture References: The Kingdom of God.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who belong to Jesus.

Believers are not meant to live in isolation, but in worship, discipleship, accountability, encouragement, repentance, service, and love.

We honor the local church and seek to strengthen, not replace, the work God is doing through His people around the world.

See Scripture References: The Church.

Service and Good Works

We believe we are saved by grace and created in Christ Jesus for good works.

God calls His people to serve with humility, generosity, courage, compassion, integrity, and wisdom.

We believe practical obedience matters. Faith should bear fruit in how we love, lead, give, work, build, reconcile, and serve.

See Scripture References: Service and Good Works.

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return in glory.

There will be a final resurrection, final judgment, and the full restoration of all things under His rule.

This gives us hope, courage, and urgency. Our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

See Scripture References: The Return of Christ.
